31 Aug South Texas College hosted the Texas Advisory Cultural Affairs Committee
COSTEP was in attendance as South Texas College hosted the Texas Advisory Cultural Affairs on Tuesday morning, August 29, 2023.
The advisory board is tasked with advising the office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott on priorities, addressing the major issues affecting the state’s Hispanic population as well as issues that arise from changes in the state’s demographics.
STC President Dr. Ricardo J. Solis, who is a council member for educational attainment on TACA was a speaker at Tuesday’s event along with TACA chair Aaron Demerson, Texas Demographic Center Data Center leader Dr. Monica Cruz, and UTRGV Senior Vice President of Governmental and Community Relations Veronica Gonzales.
Opportunities like this allow for communities in Rio South Texas to provide input on Texas Quality of Life and promote our region’s interest.
