COSTEP Appoints Rick Carrera as Director of Economic Development

Mission, TX, June 1, 2023 – COSTEP, Council for South Texas Economic Progress is delighted to announce the appointment of Rick Carrera as its new Director of Economic Development. In this role, Mr. Carrera will play a pivotal role in fostering economic growth and prosperity for the Rio South Texas region. His appointment marks a significant milestone for the organization as it continues to drive economic development and transform the region.

With an impressive background in economic development and project management and a passion for building thriving communities, Rick Carrera brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to COSTEP. His proven track record in implementing successful economic development strategies will greatly benefit the organization and the entire Rio South Texas region.

Prior to joining COSTEP, Mr. Carrera held key leadership positions in community and economic development, and regional transportation across the region. His expertise in community and economic development will be instrumental in driving COSTEP's mission forward.

In his new role, Rick Carrera will work closely with community stakeholders, businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions to foster collaboration and implement strategic initiatives that will attract new investments, promote job creation, and support sustainable economic growth in Rio South Texas.
